Thousands of music lovers are expected to arrive in Batemans Bay this Friday to attend the region's first touring youth festival, 'Next Exit. Lily Richardson from Clews says the festival will be one of their first gigs close to home, with the pair's performances usually taking place in metropolitan areas. The 'Next Exit' festival is one of only a few music festivals going ahead this year, with many forced to cancel or postpone due to the coronavirus pandemic. The inaugural festival is touring regional Australia, with a focus on reaching bushfire-affected communities to boost both the morale and local economies after a challenging 18 months. The festival aims to visit regional centres that don't usually get to host big events or may be a little off the beaten 'musical' track.
